CBF’s range of specialist materials are ideally suited to the requirements of the Mass Transit Industry where stringent fire, smoke and toxicity standards are crucial. Our range of BISCO® materials comply with rail industry standards, BS6853:1999, GM/RT 2125, NFF-16-101 and the LUL safety standards.

The range includes:

Silicone Sponge

Our silicone sponges can be used for a variety of applications including: thermal barriers, noise and vibration dampening, high performance gaskets/seals, panel seating and heat shielding in appropriate ‘high spec’ areas. All of the silicones we offer have the very highest Fire/Smoke/Toxicity ratings for this type of material.

The Rogers Corporation range of Bisco™ silicone foams are available in many thickness’, shapes and sizes and can be supplied plain or adhesive backed. These materials can be offered at any width up to 914mm as strip, gaskets or as sheeting. Other Silicone foam composites are available for particular Fire and Thermal Protection situations.

L3-A
L3-A is a newl silicone sponge. It has been developed to meet the unique requirements of railcar flooring systems. The material complies with BS6853 Cat 1a and NFF 16 101 (M1 F1). Applications for this mateiral include noise and vibration control.

HT-200
HT-200 is a non-burning, low out gassing, silicone acoustic barrier. It is suitable for: acoustic attenuation on ships and submarines; bulkhead attenuation on aircraft and sound-blocking shields for in-plant industrial requirments.

BF-1000
BF-1000 is a fire safe, UV and ozone resistant Silicone Foam. It can be manufactured in either continuous rolls, moulded shapes or cast directly onto substrates. Ideal for thermal insulation, radiant heat shielding and acoustic barrier applications.

BF-2000
BF-2000 is an Ultra soft highly compressible fire safe, UV and ozone resistant Silicone Foam. It can be manufactured in either continuous rolls, moulded shapes or cast directly onto substrates. Ideal for use as a seal in areas where a low compression force is needed.

RF120
BF-1000 cast onto aluminised glasscloth. Excellent radiant heat shielding — up to 260°C. Typical surface to surface temperature drop of 90°C at 5mm thick.

FPC
Offers extraordinary fireblocking properties. Resists burn through when exposed to a 1000°C flame for over one hour. Made of reinforced, lightweight silicone foam. Excellent electrical arc suppression, zero flame spread, UV and ozone resistance.

Solid Rubber

We can offer a solid Neoprene rubber sheeting material, compliant to BS476 Pt 7 Class 2. It is available for cushioning, under floor packing and gasketing requirements. This material is available plain or adhesive backed.

Solid Silicone Rubber

We can supply compliant roll stock silicones in a range of thicknesses (suitable for further conversion to gasketing, strip and fabrication). This material can be supplied plain or adhesive backed, as well as finished extruded profiles and mouldings in a variety of colours.
